What is MishMash Kits?

MishMash Kits is an initiative to bring and encourage creative development in underprivileged children by providing them with craft supplies, including: colored pencils, crayons, clay, pencils, a sharpener, coloring sheets, and a notebook. The goal of this project is to ensure all children have the same opportunities to express themselves and their creativity, regardless of their socioeconomic status.

Who started this project?

MishMash Kits was started by a (in 2020) 10 year old named Mishka Rastogi. The story of how this idea came to be is quite inspirational, as it comes to show that doing good is not restricted by one's age. It was around the time of her birthday and Mishka began to realize how much she has, and how much she takes for granted. Being an artistic person, she looked at her supplies and found herself thinking of other children who didn't have the things that she does. So, with the help of her mom, Shikha Rastogi, she started this initiative to help other, underprivileged, kids.

After five months of hard work, from budgeting to ordering to packing to delivering, Sr Mosaic's MishMash Kits is finally complete. Thanks to everyone who donated for the cause. This weekend, Mishka dropped off boxes full of school supplies to the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrenceville, an organization that provides recreation and enrichment activities to the kids that need us the most. She also donated boxes to our landscapers and their families, hoping to bring a smile to their kids’ faces. Giving back to the community and helping those made all that hard work worth it. “I’ve never felt happier,” said Mishka on her project.
